Ashlee Bower, Program Director, DNP, RN
Ashlee Bower DNP, RN serves as the Director of Operations at the Central Susquehanna LPN Career Center. In this role, she supports faculty to implement a high-quality educational program per the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing. Ashlee began her career in nursing as an intensive care unit nurse at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. After two years, she moved back to central Pennsylvania where she worked at Geisinger Medical Center for five years in various patient settings, cardiac intensive care unit, operating room, and in and out patient surgery. In 2014, she graduated with her Master’s degree in Nursing Informatics, where she worked for UPMC in a nurse informatician role for two years. Ashlee started working for the CSIU in 2017, where she worked in an innovative partnership with Geisinger Medical Center training nursing assistants. She found her passion in teaching nursing, where she joined the CSLPNCC team teaching nursing students in 2019. In 2024, Ashlee graduated with her Doctorate of Nursing Practice in Educational Leadership. Outside of work Ashlee enjoys spending time with her two children, family, and friends.
Jess Probst, Dean of Students, MSN, RN
Mrs. Probst currently serves as the Dean of Students at the Central Susquehanna LPN Career Center. She graduated from St. John Fisher College in Rochester, NY with a Bachelors Degree in Nursing and Minors in Women & Gender Studies and Spanish for the Health Professions. Her first staff RN position was at Highland Hospital in Rochester, NY on an Adult Medical-Surgical/General Surgical Unit. She moved to Central PA in 2011 and worked at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA on an Adult Orthopedic/Trauma Unit. She obtained her MSN in Nursing Education from Mansfield University in 2015. Mrs. Probst has been teaching at the Central Susquehanna LPN Career Center since April 2012. She has taught Fundamentals of Nursing, Medical Surgical Nursing I & II, Advanced Concepts of Nursing, Nutrition, Microbiology, and Sociology; she has spent countless hours in the clinical setting with students. Her favorite clinical rotations have been on the Cardiac Unit and at an area nursing home. She currently serves on the Curriculum, Instruction, & Budget Committee. She has a passion for non-traditional students and is so happy to hear “Go Mommy! Go Daddy!” as her students walk across the stage at graduation. Mrs. Probst lives outside of Sunbury with her amazing husband, Kyle, and four wonderful children, Ezra, Isaiah, Selah, & Judah.
Jean Moll, Administrative Specialist
Jean Moll is the Administrative Specialist at the Central Susquehanna LPN Career Center. Her primary duties are overseeing financial aid services. With over 27 years of experience in financial aid and higher education, she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania and began her journey in financial aid in 1997 when the Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit (CSIU) acquired the LPN program. Her role involves a thorough understanding of student financial aid regulations and practices to support students and ensure compliance. She is dedicated to providing guidance and support throughout the financial aid process, helping students navigate their educational paths with confidence.
Zachary Paca, Administrative Assistant
Zachary Paca currently serves as Administrative Assistant for the LPN Career Center. The Administrative Assistant supports the school administration, faculty as well as the students with day to day troubleshooting, data entry, records compliance, and event planning. Zachary began his role at the CS LPN Center late 2024 with over a decade in team development, project management, and guest satisfaction in high volume beauty, retail, and food service industries at the managing level. Over his timespan supporting a variety of teams and industries, he grew to love developing connections that vector out-of-reach achievements through support and motivation. Outside his career, Zachary owns and operates commercial property locally, supports the county elections office during election seasons, and is a freelance makeup artist.

Heather Goshert, DNP, RN, CPN
Heather Goshert, Program Instructor
Heather Goshert DNP, RN, CPN serves as a practical nursing instructor at the Central Susquehanna LPN Career Center (CSLPNCC) where she teaches Life Span Psychology and Pediatric Nursing. She also teaches clinical rotations in the Fundamentals, Med Surg I/II and Pediatric levels. Heather earned her BSN from Bloomsburg University of PA and began her career in nursing as a pediatric nurse at the Janet Weis Children’s Hospital (JWCH) at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. As a floor nurse, she worked on CH3 specializing in adolescent med/surg care and treating children of all ages with pediatric cancer and in for seizure monitoring. During her time at the JWCH, Heather completed her certification in Pediatric Nursing (CPN) and was a member of the Nursing Professional Practice Council at Geisinger and was involved in the career enhancement program (CEP). During this time, she found her passion to teach, while teaching floor staff. Heather also cross-trained to work in the newborn nursery at Geisinger, assisting in the nursery as needed. In 2017, Heather graduated with her Master’s degree in Nursing Education from American Sentinel University and began teaching adjunct for Penn College while also working at the JWCH full-time. See started working for the CSIU in 2019, where she taught in a partnership with Geisinger training nursing assistants and part-time for the CSLPNCC. In 2020, Heather went full-time at the CSLPNCC. During transitioning in roles, Heather started her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in Educational Leadership at Post University and completed her DNP in December of 2023.
When not teaching, Heather enjoys time with her family – her husband Jesse and daughter Harley. They also have three pets -Jasmine and Cinnamon (cats) and Star (dog). Heather enjoys reading in her free time and attends a summer camp for kids with cancer each year as a counselor (Camp Dost). Her passion for nursing comes from her experiences as a childhood cancer survivor.
Nicole Cowperthwait, MSN, RN, CPN
Nicole’s experience at the bedside equipped her not only with the skills to care for sick children but also with a passion for educating families and mentoring new nurses. Her commitment to professional growth led her to obtain both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a focus on nursing education, also from Pennsylvania College of Technology respectfully.
While completing her MSN, Nicole strengthened her enthusiasm for teaching through her work with LPN students in maternity classroom and clinical settings. Since 2021, she has served as a pediatric clinical adjunct instructor as well, where she has further developed her ability to educate aspiring nurses. Nicole is passionate about equipping future healthcare professionals with the hands-on skills and academic knowledge they need to provide exceptional patient care.
Gretchen Erb, BSN, RN
Gretchen Erb BSN, RN is a faculty member at the Central Susquehanna LPN Career Center. As a faculty member, she supports students in their academic and clinical journey to becoming a nurse. She teaches Sociology in the Spring and Summer and co-teaches Fundamentals of Nursing in the Fall, as well as instructing clinical rotations. Her passion for nursing began in 2013 when she first started out as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in long-term care. She then went on to become a LPN and attended CSLPNCC in their part-time class and graduated in class #98 in December of 2015. She continued working as a LPN in long-term care for four years while she went on for her Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) at Pennsylvania College of Technology (PCT) and graduated in May of 2019. She remained working in long-term care as a Registered Nurse (RN) for about six months before securing a position in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania working as a RN caring for intellectually and developmentally disabled patients and others struggling with mental health illness. She completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) online through PCT while remaining in the Commonwealth for four years before starting as a nursing instructor at the CSLPNCC in August 2023. She is currently taking courses toward completion of her Master’s in Nursing Education (MSN) at PCT with a future graduation date of May 2026. A lifelong aspiration of hers has been to teach and mentor new nurses entering the healthcare field, inspiring them to develop a passion for caring for geriatric and mental health/psychiatric patients. Her goal is to raise awareness, cultivate compassion, and empower others to make a meaningful difference in the world through their dedication to these essential areas of care.
Alicia Freed, MSN, RN, CPN
Alicia Freed, MSN, RN, CPN, is a dedicated clinical instructor at the Central Susquehanna LPN Career Center, where her journey into nursing began in 2014. With over a decade of diverse nursing experience, Alicia has worked in long-term care focusing on geriatrics, home health, and pediatric hospital settings. Alicia’s nursing career started as an LPN, and her passion for patient care inspired her to pursue further education. While working as an LPN, she earned her Associate’s Degree in Nursing, enabling her to expand her skills and care for pediatric patients at Janet Weis Children’s Hospital. During her time there, she continued to advance her education, earning both her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and her Master’s Degree in Nursing Education. Alicia has been a clinical instructor since 2021, teaching at institutions such as Pennsylvania College of Technology, where she guided LPN-to-RN students, and Bloomsburg University, where she instructed Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) students. In 2023, she returned to the Central Susquehanna LPN Career Center, eager to give back to the program that set her on her nursing path. At the LPN Career Center, Alicia teaches Leadership I in the Spring and Fall semesters and Pediatrics in the Summer, sharing her wealth of knowledge and passion for nursing education. Her dedication to nurturing future nurses reflects her commitment to excellence in patient care and professional growth.
Megan Fleetwood, BSN, RN
My name is Megan Fleetwood, and I am honored to serve as an instructor at the Central Susquehanna LPN Career Center, where I have been employed since 2019. My journey in nursing began with the completion of my Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) from Thomas Jefferson University, followed by earning my Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Kaplan University. These educational experiences provided me with a solid foundation in nursing theory and practice, fueling my passion for both patient care and nursing education.
Before transitioning to teaching, I gained extensive clinical experience in the healthcare field, specializing in Cardiac Intensive Care and Home Health/Hospice Care. These roles allowed me to develop a deep understanding of compassionate, patient-centered care and the critical thinking skills necessary in complex healthcare environments.
At the LPN Career Center, I currently teach Fundamentals of Nursing, Fundamentals Lab, Medical-Surgical Nursing I, and supervise clinical rotations at Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital. I have previously taught Maternal-Child Health, Anatomy and Physiology, and Psychology, broadening the perspectives and skills of my students across diverse nursing specialties.
In addition to teaching, I actively contribute to the school’s mission through leadership roles. I am proud to serve as the Head of the Admissions Committee and as a member of the Learning Resource Committee and the Faculty and Student Handbook Committee. These roles allow me to collaborate with colleagues to enhance the quality of education and resources available to our students.
Outside of my professional life, I am happily married and the proud mother of three amazing children. I am actively involved in my children’s activities and serve on multiple booster boards.
Nursing education is not just a profession for me; it is a calling. I am deeply committed to equipping future nurses with the knowledge, skills, and compassion they need to make a positive impact in the lives of their patients and communities.
Amy Gaines, RN, BSW
Amy Gaines, RN, BSW is the Lab and Resource Specialist at the Central Susquehanna LPN Career Center. She has been in this role since December 2020. Amy attended nursing school at Thomas Jefferson University’s Danville Campus. She was an ER nurse for 10 years, providing care to patients at Evangelical Community Hospital, Sunbury Community Hospital, and UPMC Soldiers & Sailors in Wellsboro. Prior to beginning her nursing career, Amy graduated from West Chester University with a degree in Social Work, and had 10 years of experience as a medical social worker. At the LPN Center, Amy’s role is multifaceted. She teaches Anatomy & Physiology I & II, along with their respective lab sections. She also runs the Simulation Lab, which is a part of the clinical experience which allows students to hone their nursing skills by working with highly realistic nursing simulators. A unique aspect of Amy’s role has been spearheading integration into the curriculum of the Anatomage Table, a cutting-edge virtual dissection table that gives students the opportunity for hands-on exploration of the intricate details of human anatomy and physiology. In July 2024, Amy was selected to present a workshop at the Anatomage National Conference in San Jose, California.
Betty Ann Leiby, MSN, RN
Betty Anne Leiby, MSN, RN is one of the practical nursing instructors at the Central Susquehanna LPN Career Center. In her faculty position at the Center, she serves the students through teaching Pharmacology and Medical-Surgical courses as well as in the acute care clinical setting. Betty Anne is originally from Canada, where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree in 1993 and then moved to Texas to work on a medical-surgical floor and in home health nursing. In 1995, she moved to central Pennsylvania and worked at Divine Providence Hospital in Williamsport for several years before changing roles to work as a Home Infusion Nurse with the Geisinger Health System, where she remained employed for over a decade. Since then, she has worked in Williamsport in various settings, including Endocrinology, the Community Health Center and Obstetrical/Gynecology offices. She obtained her Master of Science with a specialty in Nursing Education degree in 2021 to pursue her combined love for nursing and teaching. She has worked in nursing education since 2017 as adjunct faculty at Pennsylvania College and joined the CSLPNCC team in January of 2024.
Stacy Reibsome, MSN, RN
Stacy Reibsome MSN, RN is a nursing instructor at the Central Susquehanna LPN Career center. She joined the CSLPNCC in September or 2024 because she wanted to mentor other in the nursing profession. Stacy graduated with her diploma in nursing from Geisinger Medical Center. Her career began in 1991 as a staff nurse at Geisinger in Danville, PA. In 2001 Stacy transitioned to Evangelical Community Hospital as a Clinical Systems Specialist in Information Systems. She was promoted to the director position in 2011. Stacy earned her Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 2015 from Chamberlain University. In 2021, she earned her Masters of Science in Nursing – Executive Track, from the same university. Stacy also holds a professional certificate in Nursing Informatics from Indiana University.
Bethany Warner, MSN, RN
Bethany Warner, BSN, RN, is a Practical Nursing Program Instructor at the Central Susquehanna LPN Career Center. Bethany’s nursing career started in 2013 after she earned an Associate of Science degree in Nursing from Clarion University. She went on to gain experience in adult medical-surgical care, adult home health and hospice, telephonic triage of all age groups, pediatric medical-surgical and step-down levels of care, and pediatric home care. During this time, Bethany completed a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree through Clarion University. Early in her career, Bethany developed a passion for precepting new and new-to-the-unit nurses. Starting in 2023, she took the opportunity to continue pursuing that passion for teaching by also working in local nursing simulation laboratories and eventually teaching clinical in 2024. Bethany remains committed to teaching future generations of nurses and promoting excellence and caring within the profession of nursing.
