By enrolling, you will be joining a proud tradition. The LPN Career Center is celebrating over 40 years of service to the Susquehanna Valley. Since 1967, our program's experienced nursing instructors have guided many men and women to careers in health care as Licensed Practical Nurses. Many graduates have continued their education and become Registered nurses. Our graduates are making a difference in the health care delivery system and the lives of those they serve. Located in Lewisburg, Pa., the LPN Career Center is operated by the Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit, a regional education agency that conducts many programs and services for schools and students in our region. All classes are held at the LPN Career Center, and clinical experiences are offered in a variety of skilled and acute care settings across the region. Contact us at:

At the Central Susquehanna LPN Career Center, you can...
Train in 12 months The full-time program lasts one year. You attend classes and clinical rotations from August to August. Courses are held weekdays between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Clinical experience at affiliated facilities is usually offered during the day or first shift, but might occasionally be scheduled for evenings. A part-time program spanning two years may be held if there is sufficient interest.Attend classes locally Classroom instruction and laboratory experience are offered in Lewisburg. Affiliated hospitals, nursing care facilities, doctors' offices and childcare settings provide clinical experience.Study with experienced faculty
Progress through an approved curriculum Progress through three levels of study, moving from basic to more complex principles. Approved by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing, the curriculum includes 1,547 hours of classroom instruction, laboratory experience and clinical practicum.Choose one of two "Tracks" to complete your studies Choose Track 1 and take all your courses at the LPN Career Center, taught by nursing faculty. Or, choose Track 2 (college) and take only the nursing courses at the Center. Take the remaining courses prior to Center entrance at an approved and accredited college. Transfer of credits earned prior to entering the Center must be approved by the admissions committee.Earn advanced placement Advanced placement may be granted for previous education in a health care program for professional nurses or practical nurses, at the admissions committee's discretion.Prepare for your licensing exam LPN Career Center graduates are eligible to take the National Council of State Boards Licensing Exam for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN). The Center provides computer simulations of the NCLEX-PN based on the current matrix of the test.Look ahead to your "career in caring" The Central Susquehanna LPN Career Center has a high graduate placement rate over 90 percent.
